About the Steering Group

Steering Group - What it is

The Steering Group helps decide the direction that the Creative Space project takes by consulting with the young people (16 - 25) themselves.

There are a variety of activities that you could find yourself involved in , should you become involved in the steering group, including :-

Involvement of recruitment of youth leaders and facilitators
Planning youth led activities, generating creative ideas
Planning of youth led activities to help build emotional resilience
Review, organisation, planning and influencing of youth leader workshops
To be involved in the establishment of a youth led website for the Creative Space website
Taking part in interesting and enjoyable activities
Offering your own ideas and opinions to influence youth led changes in the running of Visyon.

Some young people will also be given the opportunity to become young trustees for Visyon.

Increased self awareness, confidence and self esteem
Increasing communication, interpersonal and coopeeration skills - from communicating with others in the group as well as learning how to work in a team
Increased leadership skills
Problem Solving
Provides a good reference for future work or study
Opportunity to gain a youth achievement award
